Amazon Convergence. 59th Central Glass Competition.

By the Amazon River.

The Kukama people who live in the Peruvian Amazon are said to have mermaid ancestors.

Their daily activities revolve around the river, and they do their laundry, take baths, use the toilet, and even chat in the river, which is a public space.

If we could enrich their way of life and beliefs while protecting them—

We imagined a place where water and leisure come together—where areas for water activities merge with inviting spaces to relax, meet, and play. A place where movement and calm coexist, offering everyone a moment to connect and unwind.

And in that sense, we can blend in with nature.

Well-designed gathering spots would provide opportunities for social interaction, while open, peaceful areas would encourage rest and contemplation.

The careful arrangement of these spaces ensures that the energy of the water enhances both play and relaxation, offering something for all moods and activities throughout the day.
