Community Center for the Preservation of Kukama Language in Nauta.

Community Center for the Preservation of Kukama Language in Nauta.

A community center for the preservation and transmission of the Kukama language, developed through a modular construction system inspired by Japanese joinery techniques using phenolic plywood. The project was conceived as a flexible, open-plan structure composed of repeated bays, allowing for efficient assembly and adaptation to local conditions. Rather than a fixed building, the system enables participation and incremental growth, supporting both learning activities and community gatherings. Through simple construction logic and accessible materials, the project establishes a spatial framework that reinforces cultural continuity and collective use.

We take on a limited number of projects each year. If your project aligns with our approach, we'd be glad to hear from you.
